*CHARLES DALY LIGHT WEIGHT BOX LOCK EJECTOR BY H. A. LINDNER. SN 1646. Cal. 12ga. Double triggers. 2-5/8″ Chambers. 28″ Dovetailed steel bbls are engraved “Charles Daly Krupp Fluid Steel Barrels” on machine matted concave rib w/ square cross bolt extension. Bbl flats have German black powder proofs and SN “1646”. Bottom of bbls are stamped “S” in numerous places, w/ crossed pistols surmounted by initials “HAL” as logo for Lindner. Right bbl has number “1892.” Scalloped back box lock action has dual under lugs, square cross bolt, side clips, intercepting sears, and pin cocking indicators w/ 50% coverage of Germanic scroll w/ “Charles Daly” engraved on both sides. “Safe” is inlaid in gold on top tang in front of safety button. Trigger guard has some scroll w/ SN on grip. Nicely streaked and figured semi pistol grip European walnut buttstock measures 14-1/8″ over a horn butt plate w/ ribbed central panel, featuring vacant German silver oval, elongated drop points, and 20 LPI checkering w/ double line border and checkered side panels. Splinter forend has a Deeley release w/ horn tip, and checkering to match buttstock. Bore diameter: left -.727, right -.729. Bore restrictions: left -.028, right -.012. Wall thickness: left -.021, right -.020. Drop at heel: 2-7/8″, drop at comb: 1-5/8″. Weight: 6 lbs 3oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain 95% orig blue, and have original damascene marks still visible on breech ends and ejectors. Action retains 80-90% orig case color, thinning behind forend, action beads and fences. Top lever retains nearly all its orig blue, silvering at top of thumb piece. Stocks retain most of orig oil finish, w/ nicks and few gouges, one fairly large on left side near oval. Horn butt plate and forend tip show considerable moth damage. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. Bores are excellent w/ no visible flaws. Action is gummed up w/ old grease and oil, and badly in need of cleaning, as right bbl won’t fire at this time. Screw slots are very good w/ some evidence of use.
