*CASED MERKEL MODEL 360 SSL DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 410. SN 481100. Fine modern made, full sidelock, dbl with 28″ bbls choked FULL/IMP-MOD with tapered concave matted rib, sgl bead with maker’s name & address on left bbl. It has Greener crossbolt rib extension, dbl lumps, ejectors & dbl triggers. Receiver, lockplates & forend iron are coin finished with full plate vignettes of a pointer & three quail in a mountain scene on left side and four woodcock in a marsh scene on right side with receiver having about 40% coverage fine arabesque pattern engraving. Left lockplate is signed “O. WEISS”. Opening lever, top tang, trigger guard & forend iron are engraved to match. Mounted in very highly figured French walnut with checkered splinter forearm & straight stock, 14-1/4″ over orig black composition buttplate. Accompanied by its orig, green, pebble grain, green ultra-suede lined, leather trunk case with brown leather trim. It also contains owner’s manual, guarantee & GSI Inc. (the importer) survey form. Drop at heel: 2-1/2″, drop at comb: 1-1/4″. Unable to gage bore restrictions & wall thickness. Bore diameter: left – .377, right – .389. Weight: 6 lbs. 1.28 oz. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Near new, may have been fired but if so, very little. Retains virtually all of its orig factory finish to both metal & wood. Left lockplate has a tiny streak of cleaned rust & right side of receiver two small spots of cleaned rust. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bores. Case is equally new. 4-55442 JR142 (5,000-8,000)
