*EXTREMELY RARE VERY EARLY COLT PRE-WOODSMAN SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. Cal. 22 LR. SN 8. Blue finish, standard model with 6-5/8” pencil bbl, original adjustable front and rear sights, diamond checkered walnut grips and an original magazine with brass follower. It has a standard velocity spring housing. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Overall retains 88-90% original finish with moderate to heavy muzzle wear and moderate edge wear on the frame and slide with a bare spot and thinning on the front strap and about half of the spring housing a blue-gray patina. Magazine retains about 75-80% thin blue finish. Grips are sound and show moderate to heavy wear, missing a chip at the right toe. Mechanics are fine with strong bright bore and some light pitting toward the chamber end. One of the earliest Woodsman pistols ever examined by this cataloguer and with original finish. 4-53036 JR669 (1,500-3,000)
