ATTRIBUTED TO SCHOENUT EXPERIMENTAL DOLL-HULA DANCER. Attributed to Schoenhut but no verifiable documents to corroborate to Schoenhut. Rare semi mechanical doll with hard composition piece head and torso with separately jointed wooden legs and painted black pewter boots. In the back of the torso there is a key and when wound the upper arms and metal hoop underneath the dress move creating a hula like effect. She wears what appears to be her original wispy haired wig and simple white muslin dress with ribbon trim. SIZE: 12″ (31cm). CONDITION: Facial paint appears original, minor paint flecks to paint on boots but overall good condition. 1-7904 (800-1,200)
