FRENCH BISQUE BÉBÉ EMBOSSED “J.3”. Closed mouth child, circa 1890, with blue-gray paperweight eyes (loose in head), with closed mouth and bee-stung lips, well-painted eye lashes and eyebrows, pierced ears, and mounted on an early fully-jointed body with straight wrists, stamped in blue “JUMEAU, Medaille D’Or, Paris”. Elaborately dressed, in lavender silk and lace two-piece costume with matching hat with wide brim and feathers, and wearing an antique blonde mohair wig over a cork pate. CONDITION: Miniscule flake at ear piercing at right ear, slight firing flaw on left earlobe, slight unevenness of color to the face, body in excellent condition with original finish with only minor wear at a few joints. 1-7307 RS (1,000-1,500)
