LAVISHLY CARVED WALNUT MERMAID CENTER TABLE. Round matched veneer walnut top has carved molded edge. A deep relief carved apron has carved putti, grotesque heads and lions in four different vignettes. Top is supported by four 20” kneeling mermaids with outstretched arms and clasped hands. All fashioned on a quatrefoil blocked and carved base. Last quarter of the 19th Century. SIZE: 30-1/2” h x 39” dia. CONDITION: Top has several cracks and scratches.
