*LC SMITH CROWN GRADE DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 20ga. SN FWE42920. Exquisite little dbl with 28” bbls, choked FULL/MOD with high matted rib, dbl ivory beads, marked over the chamber areas with the grade, makers’ name and address. It has “HUNTER ONE TRIGGER” and ejectors. Beautifully engraved with about 70% overall coverage. Left lock plate has the vignette of two setters on point and the right two German short hairs on point surrounded by very fine foliate and floral arabesque patterns. Opening lever is correspondingly engraved with a gold inlaid crown. Water table and standing breech are jeweled. Bbl water tables are also jeweled. Wood is very nicely figured American walnut with checkered beavertail forearm with Schnabel tip and semi-pistol grip stock 14-1/4” over a Hawkins pad. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain 96-98% strong orig blue with some scattered spots of light surface rust. Receiver and fore end iron retain most of their orig brilliant case colors turning gray on the back 1/3 of the locks. Wood is sound and retains about all of an extremely fine professionally restored finish. Brilliant shiny bores with some plastic deposits. 4-31081 JR000 (7,000-9,000)
