TRUNK GROUP TO LT. ARTHUR PARR, WORLD WAR I AERIAL OBSERVER WITH THE 90TH AERO SQUADRON, A CORPS OBSERVATION SQUADRON ASSIGNED TO THE FRONT WITH THE 3RD CORPS ON JUNE 11, 1918. The group consists of Parr’s footlocker bearing his name and the 90th Aero Squadron insignia; orig 90th Aero Squadron unit history published in 1920; Parr’s Officer Record Book containing his service record and written praise from his commanders for his “daring and skillful service”; his AEF identify card; 6” x 9” orig photograph of 90th Aero Squadron pilots and observers; 90th Aero Squadron Association bulletin; tunic (light scattered mothing), with bullion observer’s wing, U.S. and French-made Air Service collar devices, 1st Lt. bars, 3rd Corps shoulder patch and overseas stripe; green metal tin containing 6 different officer collar devices, enlisted man’s Illinois collar disc; victory medal ribbon; officer’s visor cap; Sam Browne belt and leather puttees initialed to Parr; Parr’s named U.S. Army Signal Corps field glasses (one rear lens cracked); observer’s map case with compass; portion of French map showing Longwy sector; 6-3/4” battery commander’s ruler; money belt; leather wallet; print-block image of Parr in civilian dress; a very rare shell art ink blotter salvaged by Lt. Parr from Corps Observation Headquarters. The blotter is made of brass and has a German egg grenade for the handle. Engraved in the flat surface is “A.W.S. – Air Service France 1918 24th Aero Sqdn, 88th, 90th, 6th Photo Section, 14th, 3rd Balloon Co”.
