WORLD WAR I ROYAL AIR FORCE CANADIAN FLIGHT OFFICER’S UNIFORM. Uniform identified to Lt. David J. Lewis. Tunic is of standard pattern olive green, with brass RAF crown and eagle buttons, shoulders with silver bullion “Canada” flashes, sleeves with bronze eagle and crown device, lay-down collar, 4-1/4” padded RAF wing, two-pc ribbon bar. Integral waist belt. Khaki polished cotton lining with single pocket. Tunic bears the label of Crown Tailoring Co, Toronto. Label is filled out in ink “D. J. Lewis 6/6/18 No. 14334”. Identified straight-leg slacks with cuffs. 6” x 10” copy photograph of Lewis in RAF uniform. 7” x 8” copy photograph of Lewis as an aviation cadet. Various letters, 1966-1970, from Lewis to a friend describing this uniform and Lewis’s military service. CONDITION: Fine. 4-54030 CW62 (3,000-3,500)
