FRANK SIMON HERMANN (American, 1866-1942) TWO WORKS: SEASIDE GOLDENROD AND FLOWERING TREE TRUNKS. 1) Unframed watercolor shows a large wave crashing on shore and in the foreground a windswept yellow goldenrod. Back side having an evening landscape of a house with trees in winter. Unsigned. 2) Gouache on paper scene shows black tree trunks covered with white flowering vines against a blue background. The reverse has a gouache scene of yellow flowers against a background of large green leaves. Unsigned work housed in a silver modern frame. SIZE: 1) 21-1/2″ x 27-1/2″. 2) Sight: 27-1/2″ x 21-1/2″.
