*MUFFOLINI ENGRAVED BERTUZZI ROUND BODY S/S GAME GUN W/CASE. SN 6108. Cal. 16 ga. 28″ bbls. With tapered hand filed concave rib w/single silver sighting bead, 2-3/4″ chambers, IMP-CYL/MOD, dbl triggers and ejectors. Top of left bbl is marked, “FILI BERTUZZI-ITALY”. Bottom of bbls marked, “NEW ENGLAND ARMS CO./KITTERY POINT-MAINE”. “BU” date code indicates 2004 manufacture. The round body box lock receiver is magnificently engr w/bold floral scroll with darkened background and a vignette of a mother woodcock and three babies on bottom, there is also a woodcock engr on top lever. Safe and SN are inlaid with gold. The trigger plate is signed by master engraver Muffolini. Mounted with outstanding exhibition walnut, fine checkered straight grip,checkered butt w/engr heel and toe plates, checkered splinter forend, engr metal tip release, gold Bertuzzi crest marked “1886”, engr diamond-shaped escutcheon and engr forend iron. Bore diameter: left .669, right .669. Bore restrictions: left .020, right .010. Wall thickness: left .024, right .026. Drop at heel: 2-1/8, drop at comb: 1-1/4. Weight: 5 lbs. 15 oz. LOP 14-1/2. Accompanied by leather luggage case w/brass corners and makers label. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Appears new since manufacture. Bbls retain virtually all of their orig blue. Receiver is crisp, clean and sharp. Stock is sound w/sharp,crisp checkering and retains virtually all of its fine hand-rubbed finish. Forend is sound w/sharp,crisp checkering and retains virtually all of its fine hand-rubbed finish. Mechanics are crisp w/non-automatic safety, strong ejectors and shiny new bores.
