TAILORED SINGLE-BREASTED FRENCH PILOT’S TUNIC. Made of high quality blue-grey wool with four patch pockets with scalloped flaps. The upper pockets are pleated. Fold-down collar with gold bullion wing and star insignia. Attached inside is a white protective collar. Seven metal wing and propeller buttons close tunic. On the sleeve are four blue felt service chevrons and gold rank insignia at cuffs. Tunic is named to pilot (name illegible) on tailor’s label. Official French pilot badge #B9860 is attached to tunic with ball and pin device through loops. Medaille Militaire and Croix de Guerre with Star is attached to tunic through ball and pin device through loops. 2-3/16” silver stork insignia, which appears on page 351 of Bartlett’s French Military Aeronautical Branch Badges. CONDITION: Tunic has a small hole in back and light wear at bottom of lower pockets. Sound overall. 4-53028 CW60 (3,000-3,500)
