*STUNNING CUSTOM RUGER 1 SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. SN 130-03331. Cal. 6 mm Remington. 26″ bbl, made without sights, muzzle with sgl gold band, Ruger 1/4 rib, with engraved Ruger rings, housing a Leupold M8-6X42 with duplex. Top of bbl is marked “STRUM, RUGER & CO. INC., SOUTHPORT, CONN.U.S.A.” Chamber area has sgl gold band, 1-1/4″ of scroll engraving on each side of rib, and caliber marking on left side. The falling block action is beautifully engraved with gold rams head on left side, surrounded by foliate scroll. Right side has gold mountain goat head surrounded by foliate scroll. The top and bottom of receiver, as well as finger lever are all appointed with foliate scroll. Rear of bottom tang is stamped “RV” as this was executed by noted engraver “Ray Viramontez”. Mounted in beautifully figured walnut, raised side panels, fleur-de-lis checkered pistol grip with engraved skeleton grip cap with checkered center, straight comb, checkered steel buttplate, left side shadow line cheekpiece, inlet screwless sling swivel base, beavertail forend with raised side panels, fleur-de-lis checkering and screwless sling swivel base. This fine stock work was executed “Joe Balickie”. This gun is pictured in Joe Clayton’s book “Ruger No. 1”, color plate VII. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Gun appears basically as new, since completed. Bbl retains nearly all of its fine custom blue with one very tiny spot about 7″ from muzzle on left side. Receiver retains virtually all of its fine custom blue finish. Stock is sound with sharp checkering a couple minor light handling marks, and retains virtually all of its fine custom oil finish. Forend is sound with sharp checkering, a minor nick or two, and retains virtually all of its fine custom oil finish. Mechanics are crisp with a bright shiny bore. 4-39707 BDT60 (6,500-10,500)
