*OUTSTANDING PIOTTI “KING 1” W/CASE. SN 8635. Cal 12 ga. 27″ bbls w/hand filed tapered, concave rib, single brass sighting bead, 2-3/4″ chambers, IMP-CYL/MOD chokes, articulated dbl triggers and ejectors. Side of left bbl is marked, “FILI PIOTTI ITALY”. Bottom of right bbl is marked, “W. L. MOORE, WESTLAKE, CA. MOD. KING 1”. Date code “AT” indicates manufacture 1988. The sidelock receiver is fully engr w/fine and tight arabesque scrollwork and floral sprays signed GRANETTI. Left side bottom of receiver is marked in gold, “FILI PIOTTI”. There is also a gold crown on top lever and “S” inlaid in gold for safety. Mounted w/a stunning piece of highly figured streaky turkish walnut, finely checkered straight grip, checkered butt, checkered splinter forend w/engr metal tip release, Piotti gold crest, engr. diamond-shaped escutcheon and engr forend iron. Bore diameter: left .727, right .726. Bore restrictions: left .018, right .010. Wall thickness: left .027, right .028. Drop at heel: 2-1/8″, drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Weight: 6 lbs. 12 oz. LOP 14-1/2″. Accompanied by a Nozoli leather luggage case w/leather corners and makers label. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain 98-99% orig blue w/slight muzzle wear and a few minor scuffs. Receiver retains nearly all of its orig case colors w/some faint thinning on the very sharpest edges. Stock is sound w/crisp checkering, one or two minor handling marks and retains virtually all of its fine hand-rubbed orig finish. Forend is sound w/crisp checkering, some minor handling marks and retains virtually all of its fine hand-rubbed orig finish. Case is excellent w/a few minor scuffs. Gun is extremely tight w/crisp mechanics, non-automatic safety, strong ejectors and bright shiny bores. This fine gun has seen little to no use. 4-35134 BDT224 (20,000-30,000)
