LATE 19TH C. FRENCH CAROUSEL W/ DOLLS. Bisque head dolls riding a carousel with horses and rabbits. When wound, carousel revolves around mirrored center section. Awning made of striped cotton with fancy ormolu trim and cloth fringe. Center awning above mirrors features four mercury balls. Base is covered in satin with original celluloid tag from a Paris toy store. SIZE: 20″ h. CONDITION: Some animals have broken or repaired legs. There is some fraying to doll’s clothing and a tear in the cloth awning. Mechanism appears complete, but is inoperative. Overall condition is good and all original. 1-281 (3,000-4,000)
