ANT. MULACZ UNDERLEVER DBL BBL HAMMER SHOTGUN. Cal. 14 ga. SN 3167. Number “2” of a 2-gun set, this fine shotgun has 30″ twist steel bbls with flat, tapered, matted rib with sgl bead & an elaborate “2” engraved near chamber end. Bbls have maker’s name & address over chambers. It has a very fine tapered rnd action with peninsula, rear action locks with rebounding hammers, scalloped firing pin shields, high (articulated) front trigger (unusual), a long upper tang with another elaborate “2” and a long bottom tang. Receiver, lockplates, trigger guard, opening lever, top & bottom tangs, hammers, escutcheons & wedge are all elaborately engraved with extremely fine foliate arabesque patterns with about 75% coverage. Lockplates each have maker’s name & address in two fine ribbons. Mounted with very highly figured, marble cake, honey & chocolate, French walnut with tiny, full checkered, splinter forearm & straight stock, 14″ over a smooth steel buttplate. There is a sling loop on bottom of stock & correspondingly on bottom of bbls. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Bbls retain about all of an extremely fine professionally restored rust blue. Receiver & appended parts retain traces of case colors in very sheltered areas with balance turned silver. Forearm is missing a large sliver & a couple of small chips from bbl channel and there are a couple of small chips missing back of top tang, otherwise wood is sound & retains most of a beautiful professionally restored finish.
