FINE COGSWELL & HARRISON DAMSCUS HAMMER DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 9697. Beautiful high grade English dbl with 30″ bbls choked CYL/CYL with smooth concave rib with single bead, dbl lumps & extractor. Bbl flats are nitro-proofed with chambers opened to 2-3/4″. Receiver has beautifully sculpted firing pin shields with top lever & back action locks. Receiver, lockplates, hammers & appended parts are beautifully engraved with about 80% coverage, very fine, English foliate, arabesque patterns with fine sculpted border patterns. Receiver has a rounded front end with reinforcing swells on each side. Mounted with very highly figured, tight grain, English walnut with full checkered splinter forearm with straight stock 14-1/4″ over a checkered horn buttplate. It has a silver initial plate on the bottom. Drop at heel: 2-5/8″, drop at comb: 1-3/4″. Bore restrictions: left 0″- , right 0″- . Wall thickness: left .030- , right .031- . Bore diameter: left .739- , right .736- . Weight: 6 lbs 2.24 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain about all of an extremely fine professionally restored brown finish with about 98% brilliant Damascus pattern. Receiver and lockplates retain 15-20% orig case colors in sheltered areas with the balance turned silver. Trigger guard and lever retain most of a fine, restored blue. Stock has a couple of tiny hairlines behind lockplates, otherwise wood is sound & retains virtually all of a fine professionally restored finish with freshened checkering. Appears to have had a repair to the wrist. Mechanics are crisp, very bright shiny bores. 4-58061 JR341 (3,000-5,000)
