CHELSEA PENCIL SHARPENER. Scarce and highly sought after sharpener consisting of green cast iron trough with rotating vertical disc affixed with sandpaper. The user would turn the crank while pressing thumb latch to adjust the pressure to which the pencil would be subjected against the sandpaper. SIZE: 6″ h x 6″ w. PROVENANCE: Late John Woods Collection, St. Louis, MO. CONDITION: Very good to near excellent with overall crazing to green paint while back of disc shows much chipping to red paint. 1-9344-8 (2,500-3,500)
