BEAUTIFUL BEADED BRAIN TANNED LEATHER SUIT.

BEAUTIFUL BEADED BRAIN TANNED LEATHER SUIT. 3-pc suit consisting of jacket, pants and belt. Made of white brain tanned leather, the jacket is half lined with unbleached muslin and has a wide fringed collar bordered with old red trade cloth, completely beaded with medium sized multi-colored beads, the red ones are white hearts. The front has long beaded panels that match and the cuffs also match. The back of the sleeves and three rows down the back as well as the bottom of the jacket are fringed. The pants are also muslin lined with a 3-button fly and suspender buttons with a small buckle and adjusting strap in the back. The waist of the pants is about 34” and they have a matching beaded panel down each side with fringe along the entire length and three rows around the bottom. The belt is 38” long x 2-1/4” wide, has red satin ribbon ties and is beaded the entire length in four different colors. There are seven fringed elliptical panels hanging from the belt that have identical beaded medallions. They are all lined with unbleached muslin and have red trade cloth borders. It is all machine sewn so it is likely an early 20th century set. CONDITION: Very fine. Lightly soiled with a few fly specks with wear and fading to the red cloth around the color and cuffs. There are one or two pieces of fringe missing and the bottom edge is dry and beginning to crack, in need of treatment. All in all, a truly beautiful set. 4-50799 JR1158 (5,000-15,000)
