PRUSSIAN LEIB-GENDARNERIE HELMET OF THE 1ST & 2ND ZUG. The unit represented by this helmet was the bodyguard for the Kaiser. 1st Zug, and the Kaiserina, 2nd Zug. This unit never consisted of more than 100 men and an officer who retained the uniform of his original regiment. This helmet, we believe to be an old replica of an original and extremely rare helmet. This example mounts the spike top used for normal duty rather than the eagle used for parade. CONDITION: Very good. 4-55069 (1,500-2,000)
