FRANZ VAN SEVERDONCK (BELGIAN, 1809-1889) TWO WORKS: SHEEP AND CHICKENS. Oil on wood panels, both housed in similar gesso decorated gilt frames. 1) Shows two roosters at odds next to a chicken, duck and dove. They are all set on a grassy area with small section of water under cloud and blue sky. Signed and dated “1874”. 2) Shows a ram, two lambs and a ewe on a grassy bluff overlooking a landscape with farmhouse under cloud and blue sky. The foreground with water and two ducks. Signed and dated “1894”. Writing on reverse of each with inscription and signature. SIZE: Sight: 6-3/4″ x 9-3/4″. PROVENANCE: Atlanta, Georgia private collection.
