COLONIAL REVIVAL CARVED MAHOGANY SEWING TABLE, PROBABLY NEW YORK. Late 19th century. The rectangular top with astragal ends having hinged lids and gadrooned edge above the conforming case fitted with a central drawer, above the arched kneehole faced with ropetwist columns and fan-carved spandrels, raised on acanthus-carved, scrolled, short cabriole legs on ball-and-talon feet. The base of each side panel with a demilune molded shelf, each gallery composed of turned brass spindles beneath a molded rail. SIZE: 29″ h. x 32″ l. x 19-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: From an extensive private Gulf Coast collection. CONDITION: Retains original finish and surfaces, with old repairs to all legs and bottom moldings at juncture to cabinet. 9-93520 (800-1,200)
