40 STAR AMERICAN FLAG. 10′ x 15′. Wool bunting flag, commercially made and stenciled “H.A. Bowman & Co. Makers Worcester, Mass.” A very rare unofficial pattern. The 40th star commemorates the Dakotas which became states in 1889. 40 star flags are rarely encountered. CONDITION: Overall condition very good. Scattered mothing and minor staining, does not effect esthetics. 4-53394 JS35 (1,000-2,000)
