CLASSICAL CARVED FIGURED MAHOGANY TILT-TOP CENTER TABLE. Circa 1840. The figured mahogany circular top with matching bookend veneers above the conforming frieze tilting on a bulbous acanthus-carved pedestal joined to the round stepped plinth, raised on four acanthus-carved animal-form legs, terminating in claw feet on brass casters. SIZE: 30″ h. x 45″ dia. PROVENANCE: From an extensive private Gulf Coast collection. CONDITION: Retains original hardware. Repolished over old surface (note two small blemish areas in top, polished over), restored split at back of plinth. Otherwise very good. 9-93309 (1,500-2,500)
