TWO EMPTY 105MM GERMAN BRASS ARTILLERY SHELL CASES. Both shell cases are nicely engraved as Trench Art. The bases are manufacture marked “Patronenfabrik-Sept 1918”. One shell case is neatly lettered within a banner “France 1918”; “Bonne” appears in a second banner. Below that appears the insignia of the Royal Artillery and their motto “Quo-Fas Et Gloria Ducunt”. A stylized monogram (ATN) appears within a 3” circle. The second shell case is marked “France 1918” and “Le Catelet” in banners, the Royal Artillery insignia and their motto engraved as above with the stylized monogram (RAA) within a 3” circle. CONDITION: Good. Tarnished brass. SIZE: 19-3/4” high x 4-1/4” top and 5” at base. From the Collection of the late P. J. Carisella. 4-53558 CW43 (200-400)
