*CLASSIC RF SEDGLEY CUSTOM SPRINGFIELD SPORTER. SN 275798. Cal. 30-06. 24″ rnd bbl, banded ramp front with large bead sight and hood, no provision for bbl rear sight, forend band with sling swivel, top of bbl is stamped “R.F. SEDGLEY INC. PHILA. PA. U.S.A.” Left side at chamber has Sedgley’s circle “S” proof mark over “CAL 30.’06”. Receiver is early U.S. Springfield 03 marked over receiver ring “U.S./SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY MODEL 1903/275798”. Rear portion of receiver on right side is mounted with Lyman peep sight. Mounted with nicely figured straight grain walnut, with classic Sedgley lines of schnabel forend, triangular checkered side panels, checkered pistol grip with sculpted hard rubber grip cap, straight comb, and Winchester Model 70 style checkered steel buttplate and closed loop sling swivel 3-1/2″ from toe, containing an adjustable 7/8″ sling. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl and receiver retain nearly all of their fine orig custom blue finish with just a few minor nicks & scratches, trigger guard and floor plate retain nearly all of their orig custom finish with some light scratches and a couple small spots of flaked finish. Stock is sound with sharp checkering, normal light nicks & scratches and retains nearly all of its fine orig custom finish. Mechanics are crisp with a bright shiny bore as gun shows very little use. 4-39711 BDT121 (1,000-2,000)
