M. DELAUNEY (19th/20th Century) SUMMER SAIL. Outstanding oil on canvas scene shows two sailboats on tranquil light blue water, low coastline. In foreground is grass covered ground having tall trees with sunlight hitting tops which are in an amber color, bottom is green. Two swans are seen close to shore. Signed lower right “M. Delauney”. We have been unable to find this artist, possibly the alternative spelling of the name with an “ay” indicates that this could be a French artist. Housed in what appears to be its original fancy gesso decoration frame which has edge chipping. SIZE: 20” x 24”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-99565 (4,000-6,000)
