FERDINAND LEEKE (GERMAN, 1859-1923) SPRINGTIME FROLIC. Large oil on canvas scene shows three young women, partially clad in sheer pastel shifts; one playing a stringed instrument with bow, the other two listening and gazing off into the woods. A mother and daughter are seen in background and white doves fly through the air. The foreground is dotted with flowers and the background has low hills under a blue sky. Housed in a period gilt frame. SIZE: 30-1/2″ x 54-1/2″. CONDITION: Relined with some inpainting, otherwise very good. 9-20153 (6,000-8,000)
