*AUGUSTE FRANCOTTE OVER/UNDER PRE-WAR SHOTGUN. Cal. 16 ga. SN 30510. Beautiful Belgian over/under with 26-3/4” steel bbls choked FULL/FULL with raised, narrow, solid matted rib, sgl bead, dbl bite bbl extensions with ejectors & dbl triggers. Mounted with beautiful, tiger-stripe, English walnut with checkered, wrap-around forearm & rnd knob, pistol grip stock with raised side panel, 14-1/4” over a checkered butt. Boxlock receiver has Merkel style reinforcements with modified Greener crossbolt and about 85% coverage English style, rose & scroll engraving. Triggerguard, opening lever & forend iron are engraved to match. Bbls are marked with maker’s name & address on right side of rib and “L. LE PERSONNE & CO LTD. LONDON” on the left. They have 2-3/4” chambers. Bore diameter: top – .667, bottom – .667. Bore restrictions: top – .025, bottom – .025. Wall thickness: top – .029, bottom – .027. Drop at heel: 2”, drop at comb: 1-1/2”. Weight: 6 lbs. 6.08 oz. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain most of their fine, orig factory blue with slight muzzle edge wear. Receiver retains virtually all of its brilliant, orig case colors and orig lacquer coating. Forearm has a repaired crack on each side at top rear, otherwise wood is sound with a minor handling mark or two and retains virtually all of its orig factory finish.
