ATTRIBUTED TO GEORGE VINCENT (British, 1796-1831) WAITING FOR THE FERRY. Unsigned oil on canvas landscape scene shows a small river with ferry crossing. A four-member family with dog and belongings wait on near shore for ferry which is on the other side. A windmill is seen at top of hill and trees line the riverbanks. All under a blue and white cloud sky. Housed in what could be its original carved wood gilt frame having artist plaque. SIZE: 10-1/2″ x 14-1/2″. PROVENANCE: Estate of Henry A. Rudkin Jr, (family of the founders of Pepperidge Farm). CONDITION: Minor inpainting, very good. 9-98969 (800-1,200)
