UNMARKED DOUBLE FLINTLOCK. SN NSN. Cal. 20 ga. 36″ Octagon to round bbls have decorative stamps and illegible name in gold wash on sunken concave rib. Illegible proof mark on left bbl. Markings on bottom of right bbl look like CAVLE, and MERIEV, and TORDU. Touch holes have gold bushings. Plain locks have inset pans, and non-roller frizzens. All mountings are iron and are decoratively filed, but not engraved. Stock has raised carved beads w/ drop points, around all mountings except butt plate. Stock has silver oval at top wrist and newly made leather pad on comb. Hickory ramrod has bone tip. Sling eye on toe line, and loop on central thimble. Newly made pair of leather frizzen covers. Bore diameter: left -.618, right -.618. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Miller Collection. CONDITION: Good. Barrels and mountings are mostly brown, but not pitted. Some repairs to wood around right lock, and cracks in right side of forend. Bores are good. Locks are crisp, and work quite well. This would make a good shooter. 4-35672 MGM81 (3,000-5,000)
