JOHN JOSEPH ENNEKING (American, 1841-1916) “BROOK IN THE FALL”. Large oil on canvas autumn scene shows brook with small rapids and rock lined with large maple or oak trees in colorful golden foliage. Other foliage colors include red, green and orange. Signed lower right “Enneking”. Also signed lower left “J Enneking 09” (which we believe this to be a later addition). Titled in pencil on back of stretcher. Housed in a ripple gesso decorated wide gilt frame. SIZE: 25” x 30”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-99672 (12,000-18,000)
