COLT MEDIUM FRAME LIGHTNING MAGAZINE RIFLE. Cal. 38 (38-40). SN 13686. Standard grade rifle with 25 3/4” rnd bbl (does not appear to have been cut) with full magazine, homemade Rocky Mountain front sight and original semi-buckhorn rear sight. It has checkered 2-pc forearm and straight stock and crescent steel buttplate. The trigger guard has a sliding safety. CONDITION: About good. No original finish remains being a plum brown patina overall, thin on the receiver. Bbl and magazine tube have fine pitting over most of the surface. Wood is sound, showing heavy wear with no finish on the stock and about 50% varnish on the forearm. Mechanics are fine. Strong dark bore. 4-52263 JR99 (750-1,250)
