RARE REMINGTON REVOLVING RIFLE. Cal. 36. SN 562. Nickel finish, appears to be built on a New Model Navy frame with 28-1/8″ medium weight oct bbl, small dovetail front sight and ladder type rear sight with sliding aperture. It has a 6-shot unfluted cylinder that is 2-1/8″ long. It is made without forearm and has a walnut butt stock with checkered wrist and straight grip with exaggerated crescent buttplate and has a Kentucky rifle style toe plate. It is fitted with a nickeled brass serpentine trigger guard with extended finger rest and grip. Accompanied by a Gun Guard Rough Rider plastic case. CONDITION: Very good to fine, retains most of an old renickel that obliterated most of the bbl markings and was applied over light pitting on the frame. The stock has a crack on each side of the top tang, otherwise has light handling & use marks and retains most of an old refinish. Mechanics are fine, strong bore with light pitting and a light ring about 4″ from the muzzle. 4-53182 JR902 (3,000-6,000)
