DUPE & CO. DOUBLE FLINTLOCK SHOTGUN. SN NSN. Cal. 20ga. 31″ Skelp twist rib-less bbls have “Dupe & Co.” inlaid in gold on left bbl, and “Patent” inlaid in gold on the right, w/ single gold bands at breech. Bottoms of bbls have London proofs. Rosewood ramrod has brass tip, and steel worm. Locks and cocks have engraved feather borders, semi-waterproof pans, and roller frizzens, and are engraved “Dupe & Co.” Iron mountings are engraved w/ stylized pineapple motif in front of trigger guard, and rear thimble. Scroll gripped trigger guard engraved w/ stylized bird and flower motif, and sunburst at back of grip. Crotch figure walnut buttstock measures 14-3/8″ over steel butt plate. Bore diameter: left -.636, right -.637. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Miller Collection. CONDITION: Good. Bbls retain traces of orig finish, turning brown. Locks and furniture cleaned to pleasing mottled silver. Wood has orig finish w/ numerous nicks and scrapes from use, 3-1/2″ x 1/4″ sliver missing from in front of left lock. Checkering is worn w/ all lines visible at grip, but smooth through forend. Cracks and chips around right lock. Right touch hole appears to have been re-vented. Locks and frizzens are crisp. Bores are good. Ramrod is original length. 4-35674 MGM83 (3,000-5,000)
