W. W. GREENER SIDE LEVER BAR LOCK HAMMER GUN. SN 18459. Cal. 10ga. 2-7/8″ Chambers. Dbl trigger, rebounding locks. 30″ Dove-tailed Damascus bbls marked “W.W.Greener. St.Mary’s Works, Birmingham” on concave top rib. Bottoms of bbls have provisional and definitive black powder proofs at “11 B” and “11 M” and “Choke”. Action and locks have no engraving except “W.W.Greener” on the lock plates. SN “18459” is engraved on the trigger guard. The semi-pistol grip English walnut buttstock measures 13-5/8″ over a plain steel butt plate. The checkering is about 18 LPI with double line borders. Forend is fastened w/ side nail, has a nicely shaped metal tip, and is checkered to match buttstock. Bore diameter: left -.761, right -.764. Bore restrictions: left -000, right -000. Wall thickness: left -.037, right -.034. Drop at heel: 3″, drop at comb: 2″. Weight:8 lbs 13oz. CONDITION: Good. Bbls retain 40-50% orig Damascus finish turning to brown. Bores are good, w/ some pitting evident. Chambers have been lengthened. There are two small dents about 6″ from the muzzle on the left barrel. Action and locks show 40-50% case color turning brown. There’s a patch of fairly deep rust (1″ x 1/2″) on the left side of the action and lock plate near the Greener name. Locks are crisp. The action screw and trigger plate screws are rather battered. Others are okay. Wood has not been refinished, has numerous marks and scuffs, and is a bit dry. Breech faces are very slightly pitted. Action is slightly loose.
