*SCARCE CASED ENGRAVED BROWNING GRADE 3 MODEL A-5 SEMI AUTO SHOTGUN. 12 ga. SN 218788. Spectacular engraved Browning with 29-1/2″ vent rib full choke bbl, numbered to shotgun. It is mounted with very highly figured, streaky, French walnut with a beautiful orig red stain. Receiver has full coverage engraving consisting of full game scene panels on sides with two setters and two pheasants and field scene on left side and two setters and ducks in a field/marsh scene on right side with four flying pheasants and field scenes on top left and four flying ducks and a marsh scene on top right. Back of hump has a very detailed spaniel’s head and top tang has a dog and rabbit in a brushy scene. Trigger bow has a pheasant sitting on a limb and on bottom tang two flying pigeons. All work is executed in wonderful detail. No signature could be found. Accompanied by its orig black leather-covered, gray felt-lined Browning trunk case compartmented for receiver and bbl with an empty compartment in left rear. Also accompanied by its orig hang tag loading instructions. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Overall retains 97-98% strong bright orig factory finish over all metal with some slight thinning around front edge, bottom front and top rear. Wood is sound and retains virtually of if its beautiful orig hand-rubbed oil finish. Case is equally new. Handle is a replacement. 4-56649 JR474 (4,000-6,000)
