PATENT MODEL: PASSENGER REGISTER. Patrick McCourt, inventor. Patent #155,659; dated August 8, 1874. Brass mechanism within locking sheet metal cabinet consisting of two screw bolts flanking a central turnstile shaft fronted by a graduated and numbered plaque. Its purpose was to count the number of persons entering or exiting a bus or facility. Retains original patent tag and contemporary copies of original patent papers. SIZE: 13″ h x 12″ w.
