PATENT MODEL: BRICK MACHINE. Thomas Forbes, inventor. Patent #21,876; dated October 26, 1858. Earlier patent model with desirable low patent number. Elaborate machine with cast gears, rods, platforms and pinions whose purpose was to mold and press bricks. It also allowed for graduated pressure to which the clay was subjected for varied density as required. Retains original patent tag and contemporary copies of original patent papers.
