CHARLES LEICKERT (Dutch, 1816-1907) WINDMILLS IN THE SUNSET. Oil on canvas evening scene shows a shepherd with his sheep, a woman walking away from the viewer and a man has sat down next to a tree stump to rest. A farmhouse is seen on the right and a windmill is next to water with two boats. Another windmill can be seen in the distance. All under a fabulous luminous sky ranging from light blue to yellow to pink. Signed and dated “71” lower right. Housed in a fine French style period frame. SIZE: 14-1/4″ x 25″. CONDITION: Very good with some inpainting. 9-99982 (10,000-15,000)
