*BROWNING DIANA GRADE SUPERPOSED SHOTGUN. Cal. 410. SN 2301J8. Beautiful little field gun with 28” bbls choked FULL/MOD with flat, matted, ventilated rib, sgl bead, ejectors & gold plated, sgl selective trigger. This shotgun falls within the “salt gun” range and apparently was returned to the factory for restoration & new wood. Mounted with extremely beautiful, medium to dark, checkered French walnut with extensively checkered, rnd field forearm and short tang, rnd knob stock, 14-1/8” over a Browning black composition buttplate. Receiver is engraved with deep, typical Diana patterns with vignettes of five pheasants in a field scene on left side, four ducks in a marsh scene on right side and two quail on bottom. Trigger bow has two rabbits. Right vignette is signed in lower rear corner by master engraver, “A. Bee”, Angelo Bee. There are only a very few small spots of pitting on the narrow rear edges of the receiver. Unable to gauge bore diameter, bore restrictions & wall thickness. Drop at heel: 1-3/4”, drop at comb: 1-3/8”. Weight: 6 lbs. 11.2 oz. CONDITION: Very fine, as noted. Retains virtually all of its fine factory restored finish to both metal & wood. The bbl blue is dark & strong with fine French gray on receiver & appended metal. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bores. 4-30525 JR353 (8,000-12,000)
