SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1866 RIFLE. NSN. 50/70 Cal. 32-5/8” rnd bbl. Standard markings on the breechblock and lock. “CA” has been stamped on top of the breechblock hinge. This is the same mark that appears on Remington revolvers, but its meaning is not known. CONDITION: Gray/brown patina with light surface rust and some signs of cleaning. Forearm has two bands with the center position filled in. Stock has been heavily sanded and refinished. Ramrod is a replacement. Mechanically fine. 4-59024 FS709 (500-800)
