ATTRIBUTED TO PHILIPPE LODEWIJK JACOB FREDERIK SADEE (Netherlands, 1837-1904) AFTER THE CATCH. Large oil on canvas beach scene shows a group of women meeting the boat with several men unloading fish into large baskets. Another boat is seen in shallow water with another group of women. Signed lower right “Phi. Sadee”. Housed in what appears to be its original weathered frame with brass artist plaque which is dated “1870”. SIZE: 28-3/4″ x 38-3/4″. PROVENANCE: West Palm Beach, FL Estate. CONDITION: Three canvas patches to reverse of original canvas, craquelure, discolored varnish and areas in sky, small L-shape tear in beach.
