SIGNED (19th Century) THE WHISTLING SWEEPER. Oil on canvas mounted to masonite shows a young boy with tattered clothes having a broom under his arm and stepping forward whistling. He has just swept the stairs and is seen against a building side. Signed lower right with what appears to be “Mare_ _”. Housed in an antique etched ebony and gold frame. SIZE: 15″ x 10-3/4″.
