IRREGULAR SHAPED SECTION OF FABRIC FROM VON RICHTHOFEN’S FOKKER DR I TRI-PLANE. This fabric from the undersides of Von Richthofen’s tri-plane exhibits much of the factory applied blue paint, with bits of the red over-paint still in place. An accompanying letter identifies the fabric and contains information relative to Von Richthofen’s death. CONDITION: Relic condition, with both the blue, as well as the red paint, flaking. SIZE: Fabric piece originally measured 7” x 5-1/2”, but a section removed changed the dimension of one corner. From the Collection of the late P. J. Carisella. 4-53520-3 (5,000-6,000)
