*SCARCE ITHACA GRADE 3 DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 10 ga. SN 500237. NID model with 28” steel bbls with 3-1/2” chambers and so marked on bbl flat (unable to gauge choke), one of only about 24 of these scarce guns ever made. It has tapered, concave matted rib with sgl brass bead, crossbolt rib extension, ejectors & Miller-style selective sgl trigger, selector in the thumb safety on top tang. Mounted with replacement center crotch cut American walnut with black insert, checkered, splinter forearm and pistol grip stock, 13-3/4” over a Pachmayr White Line pad. Receiver is nicely engraved with a woodcock on left side, a quail on right side and a flying duck on bottom with foliate arabesque patterns and maker’s name on each side. Bore diameter: left – .776, right – .776. Bore restrictions: left – .035, right – .013. Wall thickness: left – .056, right – .056. Drop at heel: 2-5/16”, drop at comb: 1-5/16”. Weight: 10 lbs. 8 oz. CONDITION: About fine. Bbls retain most of a hot dip reblue with four holes in bottom rib under forearm and some fine pitting on bbl flats and bottom of bbls around edges of forearm. Receiver is silvered case colors with traces of colors around trigger & top tang. Stock has chips at receiver and around bottom tang with a sliver missing by top tang, otherwise wood is sound and retains about 90% of custom finish.
