*SCARCE ITHACA GRADE 5E DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 454425. Beautiful Ithaca with 32” Best Fluid Steel bbls choked FULL/IMP-MOD with flat, tapered, matted, ventilated rib, dbl ivory beads, crossbolt rib extension, ejectors & Miller sgl selective trigger. Mounted with very highly figured, center crotch cut, flame grain, American walnut with black insert, carved & fleur-de-lis checkered beavertail forearm & straight stock with scalloped, checkered side panels & fleur-de-lis carved straight grip with Monte Carlo comb, 14-5/8” over a Pasadena Firearms Co. waffle pad. There is a blank gold initial shield on the bottom. Receiver is beautifully engraved with vignettes of a pheasant on left side, a woodcock on right side and Ithaca’s trademark eagle on bottom with maker’s name surrounded by beautiful foliate patterns with stippled background. Fences are engraved with diamond & dot patterns and it has cocked indicators. All appended metal is engraved to match. Bore diameter: left – .733, right – .734. Bore restrictions: left – .040, right – .030. Wall thickness: left – .036, right – .031. Drop at comb front: 1-5/8”, drop at comb rear: 1-5/8”. Weight: 8 lbs. 10.24 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain most of their strong, orig blue, turned slightly dull and slightly thinned over forearm area with a few spots of pinhead rust. Receiver retains about 50% thin, faded case colors with balance turned silver. Triggerguard is a gray patina. Stock has a hairline on left side at receiver, otherwise wood is sound and retains most of an old, professionally restored finish with checkering showing moderate wear.
