LOT OF 6 SALESMAN SAMPLES. Miscellaneous lot consisting of two wooden farm gates. First is a T-form with turned posts. Stepping on one of the two side levers opens or closes wire frame gate. The second is an L-form stamped “L. Helm” in which one would pull one of two long arms, activating a three pronged apparatus that collapses to open/close the gate. Lot also includes double yoke for oxen in wood and brass and an airplane propeller and engine mounted to wooden base. Also includes (though not salesman samples, but still quite interesting, a table mount double cherry pitter with swinging forks that push pits out, embossed “Goodell Co., Antrim, NH, USA” and a pair of curved nickel needles attached to leather sheaths to attach to one’s fingers. Each is engraved “H.H.H.” SIZE: Larges is 29-1/2″ l x 11″ h. PROVENANCE: Late John Woods Collection, St. Louis, MO.
