LARGE SEGMENT OF RED PAINTED FABRIC FROM VON RICHTHOFEN’S FOKKER DR I TRI-PLANE. An unusually fine brightly painted piece of upper fabric from Von Richthofen’s crashed plane. Written in purple ink on the reverse side is “Fabric off Aeroplane in which Cav. Capt Baron Von Richthofen was killed in Aerial Combat April 21st/18. Buried at Bertangles April 22nd/18”. CONDITION: Quite good with a centerfold crease. Minor flaking. SIZE: 7” x 5-1/2”. From the Collection of the late P. J. Carisella. 4-53520-5 (5,000-6,000)
