*SCARCE REMINGTON 40X RIMFIRE SPORTER. SN 40174B. Cal. 22LR. 24″ tapered rnd bbl made without sights but drilled & tapped with filler screws. Receiver is marked on left side “22 LONG RIFLE / 40174B” on front ring, center of left side is marked “REMINGTON/MODEL 40-X”. Topped with dual dovetailed bases & rings housing a Leupold Vari-X 3x9E.F.R. scope with duplex. Equipped with 5-shot magazine. Mounted with nicely figured walnut skipline checkered pistol grip white line spacer with contrasting grip cap. Remington hard rubber buttplate with white line spacer, Monte Carlo with left side cheekpiece, sling swivel stud 2-3/4″ from toe. Trim forend with skipline checkered side panels, sling swivel stud and 90 degree contrasting forend tip with white line spacer. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl retains 98-99% orig blue with just a couple minor handling marks. Receiver likewise has nearly all of its orig finish. Stock is sound with sharp checkering, a couple minor scratches in toe line, a few other light handling marks, retaining most of its orig finish. Mechanics are crisp with a nice shiny bore, scope is clean & bright. Very few of these fine 40X rimfire repeaters were made. 4-40534 BDT38 (2,500-3,500)
